As times are pretty crazy now and there is a sense of uncertainty and stagnation, I find that what people miss the most is the sense of adventures.

Can you remember the last time you went backpacking in a nameless city? The last time you went into a jungle or climbed a mountain? The last time you tasted a funny looking fruit or drank beer with people you didn't know?

I think that adventures are so important since they help us create stories, and what is life without good stories?

But as we are all stuck in our hometown (well most of us, others like @dream.salty and @traveliri are lucky enough to get to travel even in these times), we might as well try to find adventures and have some fun right where we are.

So how do we find adventures in our everyday?

Well, if I have to look back at this past month I was in lockdown, as were everybody in Israel, but I got to try co-living and got to meet many beautiful people, I learned how to surf, I rollerbladed for 10 km for the first time, I got introduced to a whole new part of the city I didn't know existed, I started a blog and all this with a full-time job and a very demanding studies of an MBA degree.

So what is my message to you? Go out and find adventures and create stories (not on Insta, just in life). It's much easier to do that in a new and beautiful place, but it can also be here, in your hometown, with limits of lockdown (well, an Israeli lockdown).

basically going on adventures is a state of mind, and our backyard is as big and as magical as we remember it from the time we were kids.

An adventure is stepping outside of our comfort zone, letting go of our ego, and getting a chance to learn something new about ourselves. so basically what we need is to try something new, or do something for the first time. We can also change the context, do the same but in a new location or with new people.

Basically, it means changing something and trying something new.

If guys are on board with me, I've made a starters guide for you (and me) of new things to try in the limits of these times.

And I love checklists, so here is the official adventure checklist for this month!

This will always be here for you if you feel uninspired or you feel like you need to step outside your comfort zone.

ADVENTURE CHECKLIST

  • Go for a walk as simple as it sounds, but the best way to discover new things around you is on your feet.

  • Write a short story once you start writing, you will start noticing things in a different way. Try it, trust me.

  • Acroyoga just take a few basic poses (let me know if I should make a post about it) and just do it with your friends, it's always fun (especially when you don't manage the pose).

  • Cook something new try to get a good recipe (if you're into vegan I would recommend checking out Tivoneat) and just go for it

  • Build something as simple as a shelf or a birdhouse, just use your hands

  • Go out to take pictures even with your phone, yes like a tourist, just think of a concept like architecture, urban nature, UFOs, things I hate about my city - anything that you can think of, and just go strolling around.

  • Find your reading spot go out with a book and find a good place to read, it can be the beach, on a bench, in a park, anywhere.

  • Try a new sport just go on the Decathlon website and choose something new to try, most of their stuff is affordable and you just might find a new hobby.

  • Sunset Picnic this is perfect for some quality time and some atmosphere change. Just get that bottle of wine, some cheese, fruits and some fairy lights (yes! always take fairy lights for mood!) and create some magic.

  • Sketching outside just take a drawing block and a few pencils and go give it a try, even if you don't know how to draw, just try it.

Feel free to adjust it according to your vibes and limitations, this checklist is, of course, just a recommendation. But try to get creative and try things that will take you outside, and take you out of your comfort zone.
